Breadalbane v Bridgeton – League  25/08/11

A second half collapse saw Breadalbane slump to a disappointing defeat in their opening league fixture. 

It had all looked so bright after 20 minutes when Neil Wilks’ astonishing right foot volley flew into the roof of the net from all of 30 yards.  The home side’s joy was short lived, however, as they gifted an equaliser just minutes later after yet another goalkeeping blunder. 

Breadalbane seemed to find their groove as the game went on, though, and with the introduction of Bone and Macaskill looked the more likely to win the match.  However, three poorly defended crosses late in the game handed Bridgeton all three points.  The scoreline may have flattered the winners slightly but the new look home side will need to find some form soon as they face the realities of life in the Second Division.
