Season 2008 / 2009

As this season ended, it became apparent when looking back at the results and commitment that it was a very successful maiden season in under 10 football.
Here's 10 reasons why:

1. We played 33 games in total, winning 22, drawing 2 and loosing 9, meaning we won 67% of our games.
This would have given us 68 points out of a possible 99 had we been in a league.

2. We beat every team at least once apart from Letham White U10, where we managed a 3 - 3 draw after leading 3 - 0.

3. We scored a staggering 178 goals and conceeded only 92.
Our biggest win was 12 - 2 and opur worst defeat was 9 - 2.

4. Every player in the team (except for the 2 new signings of Harry Burton and Sam Burke - only signed at the last game of the season) have scored, including our goalkeeper Greg.

5. Connor Jarvie, Morgan Chalmers, Greg Wittmann and Harley MacKinnon played in all 33 games.
Callum Cocker-Tough after signing didn't miss a game and played in all 23 games.

6. Lewis Anderson scored an amazing 50 goals from 32 games.

7. We have a young team that are bonding and playing really good football each week. They are willing to listen to the coaches and are eager to learn.

8. We now have our own SYFA trained goal keeping coach - Matt Horner who now works Greg our goalkeeper at each training session.The improvement is plain to see at each game.

9. We have a dedicated bunch of parents,fans and helpers that help out with transportation and match day set up.

10. We have just signed 2 new promising young footballers (Harry Burton and Sam Burke) who will no doubt contribute significantly towards the new season of 2009 / 2010.
